Profile
Chris Caiaccio advises clients on all facets of labor and employment law. He has been practicing law since 2002, and joined Ogletree Deakins in 2006.
Prior to joining Ogletree Deakins, Chris practiced with a firm in Nashville, Tennessee where his practice was devoted entirely to traditional labor relations. He also practiced labor and employment law with an Atlanta-based firm for several years.
Chris recognizes that employment disputes are often costly and time-consuming. As a result, he encourages clients to be proactive in the area of labor relations in order to minimize unnecessary disputes and litigation. In this regard, Chris regularly works with clients to develop lawful and effective labor relations strategies and policies. He also trains and counsels management concerning the benefits of positive employee relations.
Experience
A substantial portion of Chris’s practice is in the area of traditional labor relations. He regularly counsels clients on day-to-day labor relations matters and operating within the constraints on the National Labor Relations Act. In addition, Chris frequently works with clients to ensure that managers are sufficiently trained and knowledgeable regarding labor relations laws. Chris’s experience in the traditional labor area is wide-ranging and includes collective bargaining, union avoidance, union organizing drives and campaigns, strike preparation and contingency planning, secondary boycotts, grievance administration and arbitration, due diligence relating to mergers and acquisitions, unfair labor practice proceedings, and other matters involving the National Labor Relations Board.
Chris has significant experience representing clients in the construction industry. He frequently advises construction clients on matters such as double-breasting, prevailing wage requirements, and project labor agreements. In addition to the construction industry, Chris also has experience working with clients in manufacturing, retail, restaurant and hospitality, and newspaper, among other industries.
Chris also maintains an active employment litigation practice. He regularly represents clients in employment-related disputes in state and federal courts throughout the country. Chris’s employment litigation experience includes wrongful termination claims, sexual harassment, employment discrimination, retaliation, employment contracts, trade secrets, and restrictive covenants.
