Profile

Cristina Pérez represents and counsels management exclusively in all areas of employment law, specializing in affirmative action compliance and workplace diversity. Ms. Pérez devotes a significant portion of her practice to representing employers in compliance evaluations and administrative enforcement actions initiated by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP).

Ms. Pérez counsels employers of all sizes in a variety of industries, including healthcare, technology, hospitality, manufacturing, food service and construction companies, in this highly specialized area of law.  Ms. Pérez’s practice encompasses proactive strategies to prevent employment discrimination litigation; OFCCP compliance and audit defense; and providing advice and counsel regarding lawful diversity programs.  Her practice includes assisting clients in preparing compliant and strategically-focused affirmative action plans; advising employers on how to create legally-compliant recruitment, selection, applicant tracking, pre-employment testing, performance management, compensation, and other employment practices and policies, and providing covered contractors with preventive counseling with respect to other federal contractor and subcontractor obligations arising under Executive Order 11246, Executive Order 13496, the Vietnam Era Veterans’ Readjustment Assistance Act of 1974, the Rehabilitation Act, and other laws and regulations applicable to federal contractors.

Ms. Pérez also provides advice and counsel on a broad spectrum of workplace diversity matters, including diversity best practices, establishing metrics, and preparing statistical analyses to support voluntary diversity programs.  In this area, Ms. Pérez has significant experience in working with senior leaders and HR professionals to conduct comprehensive diversity reviews and confidential legal vulnerability assessments.

In addition to her affirmative action expertise, Ms. Pérez represents employers in cases involving allegations of race, gender, age, sexual harassment, national origin, religion and disability claims, wage-and-hour violations, retaliation and other workplace issues.
