Gretchen Lehman represents employers in all areas of employment law and focuses her practice in the area of employment litigation. She has handled a wide range of litigation matters in federal and state courts, and has defended employers in lawsuits arising under Title VII, the Florida Civil Rights Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the First Amendment and state tort laws. She also specializes in disability access issues arising under Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Gretchen has also successfully defended management before numerous governmental administrative agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Florida Commission on Human Relations, the Pinellas County Office of Human Rights, the Agency for Workforce Innovation and the Public Employees Relations Commission. She has also successfully defended companies in administrative trials before the Florida Division of Administrative Hearings. She regularly advises employers on their rights and responsibilities under a variety of employment laws and works with managers and human resource professionals to identify common sense solutions to a variety of issues.
Gretchen has a passion for education and training, and frequently conducts employment law and diversity training seminars for both management and employees. She has conducted employment law training pursuant to consent decrees with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
Gretchen has practiced employment law for her entire career. Prior to joining Ogletree Deakins, she was an associate with a national labor and employment law firm. During law school, Gretchen served as the Galleys Editor of the Florida Law Review.
