Bio:
For over 30 years, John Artz has been helping employers with personnel and policy issues and government regulation. He concentrates his practice in employment and labor law, with a special emphasis on workplace safety and health (OSHA, safety, workplace violence), along with both counseling and litigation regarding gender, disability and racial discrimination (and workplace harassment), terminations, wrongful discharge, wage and hour, and workers’ and unemployment compensation. He regularly advises employers with respect to applications and hiring, human relations policies, employee handbooks, disciplinary investigations, settlement agreements and releases, and leads training programs on a variety of employment-related matters.
In 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2008, John was selected by Law & Politics Magazine as a “Pennsylvania Super Lawyer.” The designation is limited to the top five percent of the Pennsylvania Bar.
Receiving his bachelor of arts degree from Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania, in 1968, he was a Distinguished Military Graduate of Air Force ROTC. From 1968 to 1973, he served on active duty as an officer, primarily as an aircraft commander in the Military Airlift Command, flying C-141 heavy jets around the world.
John’s biography is listed in the Millennium Edition and succeeding editions of Who’s Who in America, and the 2001 and succeeding editions of Who’s Who in American Law and Who’s Who in the World.
John has lectured at numerous meetings and seminars on employment and labor law, employee relations, and workplace safety and health matters. Mr. Artz has spoken before the annual meeting of the Administrative Law Judges of the federal Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission. |
