Bio:

Mr. Chance focuses his practice in all areas of labor and employment law.  Mr. Chance has represented employers in a variety of employment-related matters including:

  • Representing clients in all manner of employment litigation including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, unfair competition, defamation, employee compensation, and employment contracts. 

  • Representing employers in collective actions involving thousands of employees alleging violations of wage and hour provisions under the Fair Labor Standards Act, including conducting depositions and class-wide discovery.

  • Providing counseling and advice assistance for employers on all areas of employment law such as terminations, hiring practices, discipline, and compliance with wage and hour laws. 

  • Drafting, revising, and implementing effective handbooks and personnel policies.

While in law school, he served as a staff member and articles editor for the SMU Law Review Association as well as Director of the Brief Committee for the SMU Moot Court Board.  Mr. Chance is a regular speaker on employment-related topics, particularly wage and hour compliance and effective employment practices.
