Bio:
Michelle's practice focuses on employment and labor law and, in particular, civil rights litigation. She litigates claims of wrongful discharge, harassment and discrimination for both public and private sector employers. She counsels employers on employment practices and compliance with employment-related statutes and regulations.
Michelle’s experience includes advising a large public school district on policy matters, especially employment and institutional policies. She advises clients on a regular basis regarding employee hiring and termination, employment handbooks and leave issues, among other areas. Michelle’s experience also includes successfully co-counseling a civil rights trial in federal district court, as well as serving as the prevailing co-counsel in a wrongful termination and breach of contract arbitration proceeding tried to a three-member panel before the National Association of Securities Dealers. Additionally, she has experience with fair housing litigation, including accessibility issues.
Michelle graduated from the University of Dayton in Dayton in 1994 with a degree in Political Science. She received her J.D. from Case Western Reserve University in 1998. While at CWRU, Michelle served as an editor for the Journal of International Law and participated in a Moot Court Competition in which she won the award for Best Brief.
Michelle has been designated as an Ohio Rising Star by the Ohio Super Lawyers for 2005, 2006 and 2007. |
