Jean C. Kosela

Profile

Jean Kosela represents employers in labor and employment law matters, with an emphasis on traditional labor law.  Prior to joining Ogletree Deakins in 2010, Ms. Kosela was an associate in the Labor & Employment practice group at the San Francisco office of Foley & Lardner LLP.  She is admitted to practice in all California state and federal courts, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Experience

Experience: 

Ms. Kosela advocates for management in traditional labor matters such as union grievances and arbitrations, collective bargaining, and unfair labor practices proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board.  Ms. Kosela also defends and advises employers in employment discrimination, harassment/hostile work environment, failure to accommodate, wrongful termination, and wage and hour cases, including state and federal administrative proceedings, single-plaintiff lawsuits, and class action litigation.

While in law school, Ms. Kosela practiced as a student attorney in the Harvard Legal Aid Bureau, the nation’s oldest student-run legal services organization.  During her tenure with the Bureau, Ms. Kosela represented low-income clients in housing, family law and government benefits matters.
