Jon M. Gumbel
Profile
Jon M. Gumbel has concentrated his practice in the field of management labor and employment law since 1987. He has represented employers with respect to litigation and other employment law disputes involving race, gender, age, religious, national origin, pregnancy and disability discrimination claims under Title VII, the ADEA, the ADA, the FMLA, and comparable state laws. Jon has also represented employers with respect to their employment litigation matters involving breach of compensation agreements, breach of non-compete agreements, breach of fiduciary duty, joint employment, wage and hour matters, OSHA citations, and wrongful discharge laws. Finally, Jon has represented numerous employers with respect to ERISA claims and litigation including those involving severance, health, disability and pension claims.
Jon advises clients on a daily basis regarding complex human resources, labor and employment law issues. Jon also regularly drafts and revises policies, procedures and contracts, including complex executive employment and restrictive covenant agreements for a wide variety of clients and applicable to jurisdictions throughout the country.

- Achieved defense verdict for large auto parts manufacturer after 1 week trial of disability discrimination lawsuit in North Carolina
- Achieved defense verdict for airline after 1 week trial of harassment lawsuit in North Carolina
- Achieved dismissal for defense of race discrimination and retaliation lawsuit in Houston, Texas
- Achieved dismissal at onset of race and retaliation lawsuit in Kansas City, Missouri for national staffing company
- Achieved very favorable settlement of multiple noncompete lawsuits filed in Georgia, Delaware and Colorado for large computer company
- Achieved voluntary dismissal for defendant of 10 plaintiff ERISA lawsuit filed against large telecommunications company in Georgia
- Achieved dismissal of race discrimination case filed and prosecuted by the EEOC in Tennessee and appealed to the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals for large telecommunications company
- Achieved dismissal on summary judgment of race and retaliation lawsuit in Fort Wayne, Indiana for large copper wire producer
