Profile
Katherine graduated magna cum laude from the University of Alabama with a B.S. in Economics and Psychology in May 2006. Thereafter, she earned her J.D. from Cumberland School of Law in May 2009. While attending Cumberland, she served as the Editor-in-Chief of the American Journal of Trial Advocacy and was selected as a Judge Abraham Caruthers Teaching Fellow, a member of the American Board of Trial Advocacy, and 2009 Who’s Who Among American Law Students.
Following graduation Katherine practiced labor and employment and workers’ compensation law at a regional defense firm in Birmingham, Alabama. Katherine has defended employers before both state and federal courts, as well as administrative agencies, regarding claims of discrimination, harassment, wrongful discharge, workers’ compensation, retaliation, wage and hour violations, enforceability of arbitration agreements in the employment context, and covenants not to compete.
Katherine serves on the Executive Board for the Birmingham Chapter of the Delta Zeta Alumni Association. She is a member of the Women Lawyers Section of the Birmingham Bar, the Birmingham Volunteer Lawyers Program, the Jefferson County Young Lawyers Mentoring Program, and the Labor and Employment Section of the American Bar Association.
