Lara J. Peppard

Profile

Ms. Peppard’s practice focuses primarily on advising and defending employers in employment-related matters, including hiring, restrictive covenants, reductions in force, discrimination, retaliation, harassment and wrongful discharge.

Ms. Peppard has handled a wide range of litigation matters in federal and state courts in Florida and has defended a variety of lawsuits arising under the Fair Labor Standards Act, Title VII and the Florida Civil Rights Act, the Florida Whistleblower Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Equal Pay Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Migrant and Seasonal Agricultural Worker Protection Act, as well as other federal and state laws.  She has been involved in several class action and collective action cases. 

Additionally, Ms. Peppard has successfully defended employers before governmental administrative agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Department of Labor, and the Agency for Workforce Innovation. 

Prior to attending law school, Ms. Peppard lived for an extended time in Chiapas, Mexico and is fluent in Spanish.
