Laura Martin Scales

Profile

Laura Martin Scales is an associate in the firm’s Philadelphia, Pennsylvania office where she focuses her practice on employment litigation and consultation.  In 2007, Ms. Scales received her J.D. degree from the Villanova University School of Law, where she served as an executive committee member of the Black Law Students Association and a member of the Asian Law Students Association.  She also served as a teaching assistant to the Honorable Juan Sanchez, of the US District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and she received the Center for Forensic Economic Studies Award of Excellence in Litigation for trial advocacy.

Experience

Experience: 

Ms. Scales handles the following matters: 

  • Assists in litigation and mediation of employment law cases in state and federal courts and before administrative agencies.
  • Advises employers on a variety of human resource issues concerning hiring, disciplining, and terminating employees. 
  • Reviews and updates employment contracts, policy and procedure manuals, and employee handbooks.
