Richard R. Parker

Profile

Mr. Parker has over thirty-five years of experience in the practice of labor and employment law. He began his career as in-house labor counsel for a large tire manufacturer in Akron, Ohio, where he was responsible for a variety of labor and employment matters, including union representation elections, labor contract negotiations and labor arbitrations.  Mr. Parker has been in private practice since 1976, representing private employers in a broad spectrum of industries, including automotive, steel, chemical, transportation and pharmaceuticals.

Experience

Experience: 

A primary focus of Mr. Parker’s practice is assisting employers in maintaining a union-free workplace.  He has successfully advised employers in over one hundred union organizing and union decertification efforts.  Mr. Parker regularly appears before the National Labor Relations Board representing employers in both representation and unfair labor practice proceedings.  In addition, Mr. Parker has handled numerous labor arbitration cases.  He regularly negotiates collective bargaining agreements, including advising clients regarding the legal aspects of strikes and lockouts.  Mr. Parker advises clients on compliance with both state and federal labor and employment laws and speaks on labor and employment matters to various industry groups.
