Ogletree Deakins Deepens Bench Strength, Adds Immigration Shareholder

PHILADELPHIA – May 1, 2012 – Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, P.C. (Ogletree Deakins), one of the nation’s largest labor and employment law firms, welcomes Min Suh as a shareholder to the firm’s Philadelphia office. Suh focuses her practice on immigration and employment law. Prior to joining Ogletree Deakins, Suh was a partner with Fox Rothschild, LLP in Philadelphia. With the addition of Suh, Ogletree Deakins’ Philadelphia office continues to experience substantial growth in response to client demand. Led by managing shareholder Paul Lancaster Adams, who joined the firm in January, the office has also recently welcomed Zach Glaser and Richard Harris as shareholders; Sue Kalp and Jacqueline Barrett as of counsel; and Penelope Jones as associate.

With more than 15 years of experience representing employers, Suh counsels multinational and domestic corporations in business immigration matters before the U.S. State Department, the Department of Labor, and the Department of Homeland Security, as well as provisions under the Immigration Reform Control Act. She has extensive experience managing complex immigration matters including training employers on immigration related topics such as employment verification compliance, hiring practices, and employment policies. She also develops proactive compliance programs and immigration policies, including assistance with internal audits and training to ensure I-9, H-1B LCA, E-Verify, and Social Security no-match compliance. On the employment law side, Suh conducts training on issues such as harassment, discrimination, the hiring and termination processes, interviewing techniques, performance evaluations, leave laws, independent contractor issues, and wage and hour matters.

Suh is very active in her community with a history of service to organizations focused on the arts, education, women and children’s issues, and the legal industry. Currently, she serves on the Board of Trustees for Widener University, and is a member of the board of directors for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute and the International Association of Korean Lawyers. Earlier, she was a board member for the Empowerment Group, Friends of the Children’s Crisis Treatment Center, the Asian American Women’s Coalition, and the 21st Century Society of the Philadelphia Orchestra. Professionally, Suh is an active member of the Philadelphia Bar Association and the American Immigration Lawyers’ Association. For her accomplishments both professionally and within the community, the Philadelphia Business Journal named Suh to the publication’s “40 Under 40” list. Licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, Suh earned her J.D. from Widener University School of Law in 1995. Prior to law school, Min was a legislative assistant at a Washington D.C. based government relations firm where she assisted in the research and development of various lobbying strategies and initiatives.
