Mr. Lee defends employers in discrimination, harassment, wrongful discharge, wage and hour, and other employment-related matters in state and federal courts and before administrative agencies. He appears regularly as a specially admitted attorney in jurisdictions around the country. Mr. Lee also specializes in representing employers in labor arbitrations, and he performs workplace investigations in response to internal complaints of discrimination and other alleged wrongdoing.
Given the constant evolution of employment laws and related judicial decisions both in New Jersey and nationwide, Mr. Lee also counsels employers regarding strategies to avoid liability and to employ sound management practices. He regularly speaks on a variety of employment law topics at firm and private seminars.
Experience
- Successfully first-chaired over 50 labor and employment arbitrations ranging from Title VII discrimination cases, collective bargaining agreement interpretation matters, and labor discharge cases
- Obtained summary judgment dismissals of age, race, disability and gender discrimination claims, under both state and federal law, in jurisdictions throughout the country, including New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Michigan and Pennsylvania
- Successful verdict in New York age discrimination trial defending large security industry client as first-chair counsel
- Secured temporary and preliminary restraining orders on behalf of various clients seeking to enforce non-compete agreements
- Performed internal workplace investigations for clients in various commercial industries and in the public sector
