Christopher M. Ahearn, an associate, represents employers in all aspects of labor & employment litigation filed in state and federal court, arbitration, or before state and federal administrative agencies. He has significant experience representing employers, insurance carriers, financial institutions, and third-party administrators in ERISA class action and single-plaintiff lawsuits nationwide. His experience also includes traditional labor matters, such as corporate and union campaigns, unfair labor practices proceedings, collective bargaining negotiations, and grievance and arbitration proceedings.
Mr. Ahearn earned his law degree from the University of California, Berkeley, Boalt Hall School of Law in 2005. While in law school, he received academic awards in commercial transactions and California marital property. He was an associate articles editor for the Berkeley Journal of Employment and Labor Law. Mr. Ahearn also performed volunteer services at an employment law clinic in San Francisco and clerked at a labor-focused law firm. Prior to law school, he was a Fulbright Fellow at the Friedrich-Schiller-Universität in Jena, Germany, where he studied philosophy and literature from 1997-1998. He earned his A.B., magna cum laude, in philosophy and German from Boston College in 1997 and was elected to Boston College’s chapter of Phi Beta Kappa.
Mr. Ahearn is admitted to practice in all California state and federal courts, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
