Kristin concentrates her practice in employment litigation. She defends businesses before administrative agencies and in federal and state court involving all manner of civil rights, whistleblower, and other employment-related claims. Kristin frequently presents training seminars regarding a variety of employment law issues. Her clients rely on her to guide them through difficult personnel issues prior to litigation erupting.
Kristin has had unique opportunities to explore the law not only as a litigator and counselor, but from the perspective of the court and the clients she represents. She served as clerk to the Honorable Michael S. Kanne, Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, from 2003 to 2004. She also worked in-house for a large, multinational client for four months, covering its in-house employment counsel’s leave, in 2009.
Kristin currently serves as the managing shareholder of the firm’s Indianapolis office, which has been named a Best Place to Work by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce.
Experience
Besides frequently litigating Title VII, Americans with Disabilities Act, Age Discrimination in Employment Act, Family Medical Leave Act and Fair Labor Standards Act cases, Kristin has also litigated through trial an ERISA retiree benefits class action suit for a multi-national automotive supplier. She has also represented various businesses in whistleblower claims brought before the Department of Labor under the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, the Clean Air Act, and Air 21, among others. She is skilled in civil arbitrations. She services clients in the medical, insurance, and hospitality industries, among others.
