Before joining the firm’s Charlotte office, Bob Bisanar worked for Duke Energy where he was responsible for the Company’s legal affairs relating to labor and employment. He was employed by Duke for 26 years. Bob joined Duke Energy in 1980 as a senior attorney and retired as Deputy General Counsel with responsibility for the labor and employment practice group. Prior to joining Duke, Bob was the Assistant City Attorney for the City of Gastonia for four years. He served as secretary of the Mecklenburg County Bar from 1995 to 1998 and later as a member of the Board of the Mecklenburg Bar Foundation. He is also former Trustee of the Public Library of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County.
Experience
In his career Bob has worked with a wide variety of labor and employment issues, including union negotiations and organizing campaigns, compensation equity studies, executive compensation, whistleblower claims, labor and employment issues associated with mergers and acquisitions, reductions in force, wage and hour investigations and OSHA. Representation of clients have included a number of companies in the energy industry, including the nuclear and engineering sectors, as well as real estate development, homebuilding, a cargo airline and a University.
